Welcome to the website of Company I of the Twenty-first Georgia.  We formed this unit with the idea and intention of becoming more authentic to the Civil War era than most of our peers.  This unit predicates itself on a good core group of reenactors/historians with open minds  and  the willingness to learn an experience what the average soldier experienced as best we can.

Most people look at Civil War reenacting as a hobby but with us  it is a passion.  We are proud of the unit histories of both Companies we have taken the designations of.  We chose to take the regimental designations of the 2 units we have for various reasons, for example the 21st GA was a unit that a few members had members in that served in Virginia. The 17th KY is a unit we find interesting and a good representation of the average hard fighting Western Theater fighting unit  that fought at most of the Atlanta Campaign battles we portray. However even though we took these designations we do not always get to portray the units since some places ask us to portray other units engaged at the battle we are recreating.

Reenacting has afforded us the ability to see things the general populace never will.  If you think you may want to give Civil War reenacting a try then take a trip with us, back in time to the 1860's and you too may find memories that others never will.

We currently have the ability to attend a multitude of different styles of reenactments, from Progressive to Mainstream.  If you would like to join a unit that can "take it easy" at a festival style event one weekend, and live off what you have on your back the next, then you might want to give us a try.  We have extra equipment and uniforms to loan.  If you would like to see what we are all about then please contact us.  We enjoy having new people try reenacting so don't feel intimidated.  Physical mistakes we expect having the proper attitude is really what matters.

Please feel free to wander around the website. I hope you find some of the information interesting.  Thanks.
